Love your input on this concept! It so true that sometimes in our effort to praise a student, we are actually creating an obstacle for future progress because of the stress, as you stated, that a student feels to repeat this feat. I know I can definitely relate to this from my own past educational experiences.

Well said Kim! And yup, I was definitely one of those students as well! I remember entering a gifted program in 6th grade and having major anxiety because all of a sudden I was working my butt off to pass. I had always identified as "smart," and smart meant that everything should come easy.
